Control and Coordination Mind Map
Use this learning tree to open the right concept in the right order. Start with a branch, expand it, then move into the concept page you need next.
Stimulus
highA stimulus is any change in the surroundings or inside the body that can be detected and can produce a response.
In answers, always write the change first, then the body part that detects it, and finally the response. This keeps the sequence correct.
Neuron
highA neuron is a nerve cell that carries messages in the body in the form of electrical impulses.
When asked about a neuron, mention both structure and function. A neat label of dendrite, cell body, and axon often adds marks.
Synapse
highA synapse is the small gap between two neurons, or between a neuron and an effector, where the message passes from one cell to another.
If a question asks how impulses move from one neuron to another, mention neurotransmitters and the synaptic gap.
Reflex Action
highA reflex action is a quick, automatic response to a stimulus, usually controlled by the spinal cord for safety.
If the question says quick, automatic, and protective, think of reflex action and the reflex arc.
